Help google contacts info not sync to legend

After i syncd my google contacts to the HTC legend, i noticed that all birthdates of my contacts on the phone is off by one day when i go back in to view the contact info. When i enter a new contact into the phone directly under contact type "google" whatever the birthdate i enter, as soon as i save the contact, the birthdate changes to the day before. If i enter a new contact under the contact type "phone", the birthdate displays correctly as what was saved.
