Google keyboard issue

Hi All,

I turned off the suggestions on my keyboard, and so the grey suggestions bar was gone.
Unless when I go to the symbols keyboard, the grey bar returns. When I leave the symbols keyboard, the grey bar disappears again... It is very annoying since everything jumps up as the grey bar suddenly appears.
How to get rid of the grey bar in the symbols keyboard as well?
