Root (if you can) and install ErisLightningBolt 2.7 . You'll have pinch-to-zoom in google maps.

i can root (i was patient and didnt leak) but there are sooooo many roms out there that i wouldnt know what to do, which to load, what to expect etc. . . . basically im chicken!

Pinch to zoom also works on my aloysius v11.

I know nothing about computers or phones and after rooting my phone I am understanding a lot more. Trust me on this one, if you can read directions you can do it no problem. And you can flash any rom any time you want as long as you install a recovery. I have evil eris 3.0 and have pinch to zoom in google maps also.
