I have noticed an irritating condition with Navigator. When I turn it to landscape mode, the screen darkens to unreadable. I can turn it back to portrait and it immediately re-appears. This only happens when I pick it up - It can be laying in the seat in LS mode and be perfectly visible, as soon as I pick it up, it goes dark. If this is a feature, what is the benefit?

    Thanks,
    Roger

You don't happen to be wearing polarized sunglasses when this happens, do you? -- They will make the screen almost unreadable in landscape.

If not, it may just be a weird setting somewhere. Mine does not do this.

I was thinking polarized lenses too.. the orientation sensor isn't fast enough to look instant.. does it gradually fade as u turn, if so ur glasses are def polarized.. otherwise I don't have any idea

No, it is very abrupt, almost like flipping a switch. Doesn't happen on any other application (so far).

I'm having the same issue, definitely a setting as it's instantaneous. Its a real pain in the a$$ as landscape is the best view for navigation... any help much appreciated :)
