Google Nav Favorites Workaround

It's been a while. Did you ever figure out a solution?

I also want to create a custom map on Google Maps on my computer, and then somehow load it into my phone, put on my headphones, get on my bike, and listen to turn-by-turn directions for my custom route.

The start and end points are both my house, but I usually like to do a 10 or 15 mile loop.

I would love to sit at the computer and plot a course through all the twisty side streets, then get on the bike and just mindlessly be told when to turn, and so I could just look at the architecture and sites, and not the map.

I've had people suggest all kinds of things ... runkeeper mapMyRide OSMand, but I don't see anywhere in the reviews or descriptions that they do what we want them to do.

Is there any way to get the droid 4 to sound an alert when approaching each data point you have included in your custom poi (google map layer work around)? That would eliminate the need to scroll and read... just follow the alerts to the poi most near you.
