Help Google search bar moved?

Am I going mad or has my search bar moved down, taking up more retail space?

I use it, so don't want to remove it. Also using a nexus 6 so cannot pick it up and move it.

Right then, I'm not going stir crazy. Here is a shot of a random homepage on the top and mine on the bottom.

Clearly my search bar is on the move. Very odd indeed, anyone else have the same issue?

Only that mine is in exactly the same place as yours on a Sony XZ. I don't think the bar has moved, only that the actual widget has been redesigned and thus has more 'white space' around it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as the widget has not actually moved. But damn annoying in my opinion.

Yet another difference across devices, on the HTC M9, M7 and no doubt the M8, it can be positioned anywhere and in three sizes.

I always found HTC to have nice touches to their launcher or sense I believe it was called. Mind you, that's one damn ugly settings icon.
