Help Google search using a lot if data

Hi,

I recently got a moto x 2014. Everything is working nicely except for one thing. Google search is using ridiculous amounts of data.

From January 1 to January 3, google search used 1.12 GB data (background).

I have temporarily solved the issue by restricting background data usage.

Is there anyone with similar problems? Anyone that knows why it's using so much data?

Yeah, I have a similar issue with that also, but only on occasion.
I haven't taken the time to delve into it, so I just kill the app. (I have an LG G3).
When I notice my battery draining, that's the first thing I look for now.
