I kinda miss pin messaging on a blackberry is there social areas for Google talk? I lost a lot of friends coming from blackberry to android and they don't like using Google talk. And there is no way I am going back to blackberry.

i don't get what is so special with Blackberry Messenger. I mean every1 is connected on a smart phone whether it is email, twitter, text message, bbm, facebook, aim, yahoo messenger, myspace etc.

bbm is far superior to all other IM's cause it just works, baring an outage from BB which i know has got press recently but in the grand scheme of things is pretty rare....bbm works, it is fast, reliable, always on, doesnt drain battery, you are always logged in, great great little piece of technology.

i totally agree. it was the hardest thing to get over when i switched over from 5 years of being a blackberry user. however, i have slowly converted most of my friends to Google Talk. Sometimes GTalk shows me as "offline" to my friends. I have no idea what causes this b/c I did not log out. That is my only problem.

i do not have that option. i have "automatically sign in" which is checked for yes

but sometimes it still shows me as logged off to others - strange.
