Whenever I am in the car and the hands free is connected, my phone reads out any texts I receive
With Android 2.2 the TTS was Pico and that was a fairly clear, if a bit robotic, voice that I could understand when I was driving.
Now we have the Google Text-to-Speech Engine. If set to English UK, when it reads out the text it sounds like a sleepy, asthmatic old man and even with media and notification volume on full, is about half the volume that Pico was on the Desire. If I change it to English US, she is still quiet, but more understandable.
I just wanted to know if there was a way to:
a) Increase the volume - I have had every volume setting on full to no effect
b) Get Pico back on to the One S
c) Is there another TTS (ideally free) that works on ICS - IVONA doesn't and SVOX doesn't
Cheers
