I want to use Google Voice, but the last time I did it completely hijacked my phone and I always had to press 1 to make or receive calls. Does it still have those issues or is there an option to disable that?

I've used GV for years with no problems. No 'hijacked' phone or dialing 1 for anything.

Install the GV app from the market if you haven't already and get familiar with it. Post back here with more specific questions.

You can't make calls with GV alone, you need an app like GrooveIP. Groove IP has the option of pressing a "1" or not. Works fine either way. Google Voice has never had a problem through my PC.

The OP didn't say he's trying to make VOIP calls, though he might be.
