    Hey everyone,

I've been reading this forum for awhile and its full of great info, thanks for all the help so far.

I have a couple of questions and ideas and was hoping to get some feed back.

    - as far as i know Google Voice lets me send text messages for free
    - if the above is true, could i call verizon and disable all text messages to my real number?

    Thanks for any input =)

Well in order to take advantage of it being free you would have to use the GOOGLE number, not your old phone number.

And then only send and receive texts from the google voice app itself, you can also forward to email.

Thanks, glad to see i was on track. The issue is my friends wont stop using my 'real' number (because it still works!).

This should also shave 5$'s off the bill since i have the 250 text plan

I thought I was getting free texting as well, but it turns out that only the outbound texts will be free, and you will still be charged for incoming texts. I know, it's stupid, but that's the way it is.
