google voice to come preinstalled with 2.1?

    The second video posted that shows the droid running 2.1 shows what seems to be a google voice update. The icon looks nicer to fit the 2.0/2.1 icons and it now says "Voice" instead of "Google Voice." This would be a welcomed change if so!

    Any insight as to why this is?

    It would probably make sense for the non-beta release of Google Voice to coincide with the Nexus One release, assuming the phone is even really going to be for sale and is not still just a developer model. Especially if they're planning on selling the phone without a formal attachment to a carrier, giving all of the users Google Voice access would help them to rely just a little bit less on the carriers and more on their own services.
