Google's Allo app will not have end-to-end encryption enabled by default

While there will be an option to enable this feature within the settings, end-to-end encryption will not be enabled by default in Google's upcoming messaging app, Allo.

Interestingly enough, the co-leader of Google's product security team wishes it was enabled by default. However, executives within the company wouldn't allow the product to ship like that because the flagship feature (Google Assistant) wouldn't automatically work with it on.
