    Hey everyone,

So I got my D2 and rooted it. I guess I forgot to check for any system updates before hand because I woke up today with a prompt to install an update. Should I be concered that the phone is rooted? Should I take the time to unroot the phone before the update? Are the current roots comptable with 2.2.2 so I will just have to run the root again?

Maybe I'm just being overly precautious but I figure its safer to ask first.

    Thanks!

I haven't seen anyone mention 2.2.2. I just checked for updates on my phone and there was nothing. Any OTA update can cause you to lose root. You should be able to reroot easily using one of the many methods posted in this forum.

Excellent advise as always from an android forums member.
Updated and re-rooted without a hitch.

    Thanks much!

D1 people had to deal with this too. A method of blocking the OTA was developed and the funny thing is that I made a thread about blocking OTA updates, and I don't think anyone really responded, so I'm sorry to say, but devs don't seem to give a hoot about the D2
