Help GPS/Camera after Kit Kat update

So, I just updated my stock Virgin Mobile S3 to Kit Kat and when I open my stock camera app, it triggers the GPS. I do have geo-tagging turned off for pictures, but I'd really prefer that it not start up the GPS at all. Any ideas other than turning it off altogether? I'd rather not root...maybe a different camera app? Or is there some way to prevent it turning the GPS on when you open the camera? Thanks.
