gps sucks

I have use wireless networks off and gps satelites on. It takes FOREVER to find my location. I sit there for 20 minutes or walk around and nothing. I'm in nyc so I thought it was the buildings but this still happened when I traveled recently. Completely open areas with 4 bars (not that it should matter) and I can't get a freaken gps map location.

Walking around would be counterproductive for getting first lock. Best cure for any GPS (not just android phones) is to set it down outside with a clear view of the sky. Generally first lock can happen in 5mins but even with consumer GPS it can take up toe 45mins in some cases.
