Grrr....shipping confusion

    Well, I was *trying* to be patient! Ordered my X on Sunday and called tonight to check on the status. I was estatic when the Verizon guy told me it was already shipped and should arrive tomorrow! When I hung up and tried to look up the tracking # he gave me, I got...nothing. So then I called Verizon again to see if I wrote it down wrong....NOPE. Rep #2 tells me my order is still being processed and has no idea why I was told differently.

    Booooo!

    You should call a third time. Technically, either one of them could be incorrect and it could be one way or the other. A second confirmation of either statement from a separate Verizon rep. will increase the odds of that story being true. :>

    EDIT: BTW, I've heard numerous reports of Verizon tracking numbers not working one way or the other, so I wouldn't rely to heavily on that unless it's a tracking order for another service. ie. - UPS, FedEx, etc.

    He/You might have confused the ORDER NUMBER with that of a tracking number.

    Just a question, but where are you located? I ordered mine on Sunday too, and I haven't gotten an email. I'm calling tomorrow to see what's going on.

    I'm in Colorado - from what I've heard, not that far away from one of their shipping locations.

    From what I can tell, Verizon's shipping info is not always the best. I ordered my DX on Monday on the phone, never got conf email. The order number brings up nothing when I check order status. Yesterday morning I ordered the hdmi docking station from the VZW website with overnight shipping (being hopeful to have my DX by this weekend regardless of what VZW says). I checked the order status of the docking station and it shipped and is to arrive today. I never got an email saying it shipped. So my plan is to put a note on the door ever day until I received my DX asking the Fed Ex driver to leave the package on the porch. On another forum someone said VZW CS told him all the phones ordered through 8/2 would ship today, but who really knows.

    yea. I had the same trouble. I ordered my X on Monday. the Guy said it will ship overnight on Friday. well on Wed the Guy said it will ship Thursday. then on Thursday they said it will be the 19th. WTF.

    Topical verizon cs. I was told mine would ship and would be here two days ago. I asked three times if they were sure it was going to ship. Guess what? Correct, it not only didn't ship but isn't going to until the 13 th. The rep simply said I was told wrong (again). I was smart enough to agree to take their survey and let go with a rant that lasted longer than the recording could handle. I now have people from vzw trying to call me to make me feel better. I haven't talked to one yet but when I do I have some advice for them.

    UPDATE:

    I called again - this time to the Internet Order Status number. I spoke to a nice rep who confirmed that my order hasn't shipped, and certainly isn't coming today like the first guy said. In fact, I read her outloud the "Tracking Number" that the guy gave me, and she was shocked to see that he basically just pieced together some various numbers that appear on my customer screen. She used the word "fabricated."

    Turns out that the first rep I talked to wasn't even a Verizon Wireless employee...WTF!!...he was an "outsourced employee"....and no one there can actually tell me who he was.

    This new rep was incredibly apologetic and furious about what happened. Waiting for a supervisor to call me back who may be able to figure out who the guy I talked to was. I'll be doing my best to contact his supervisor.

    Apparently I'll have some time on my hands now :(

    Here's my .02. My X stopped ringing meaning it only vibrates on incoming calls. All other notifications are fine. So I go to Verizon because I am still in my thirty day period. They do a factory reset and the phone seems to work. Well it happened again. So I called Verizon this time and they send out a new phone...to my old address in Florida! Obviously I do not receive it. They flag my account, charge me a second time and will not send out a new phone. I am stuck here with an awesome device not working properly, charged twice for it and now they won't rectify the problem that they caused. I am at a loss.

    I called yesterday because my X keeps rebooting and random times. The guy on the phone told me it would ship on Monday and I would have it Tuesday.

    Exactly what the rep just told me when I got called. I was hoping to have it today or tomorrow, but Tues/Wed isn't that far off.

    Just curious, but when did your address change and had it been changed on your account? If the address on your account had changed before or when you originally ordered the DX and both the address on the account and the address where the first phone was shipped match then it certainly does seem to be their problem. However, I can see that if the shipping address did not match the address on the account or if you are wanting the replacement to be sent to an address different than where the original phone was sent then those situations might trigger some flags.

    Three years ago. I get all my bills to my house so why that old addy is still in the system is beyond me. I ordered the original X on line and it came to my current address.

    Sorry to hear about that 11mess. If I were you, I would head into a local store if there's one nearby and not bother leaving until you get a concrete answer from an actual physical human being. Doing it all in person gets things done much faster than if you were to do it over the phone, in my opinion. You're actually there, standing in front of the rep. They can't start rolling their eyes or laze off because they don't feel like talking to you. They actually have to stand up straight and get the answers that you're asking them because you can watch their every move. Pressure can be quite the motivator.

    I really hope my X doesn't end up having any problems. :x
