handcent and epic 4g

Okay so I got the handcent installed on my phone. How do I set it up to show the pop up balloons when I receive a message? Right now I have this ugly square that pops up when I receive a message, not sure if this is from the default or not. I went through the setting and tried a bunch of stuff with no luck. Got it so messed up I had to uninstall then reinstall. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm fairly sure that that ugly grey box is the only option as far as pop-ups. I hate it so much, but love everything else about Handcent. You may want to try ChompSMS, I think the pop-ups are more aesthetically pleasing. Personally, I found the ads on the free version to be too intrusive.
