Help Handcent displays double contacts

My handcent app shows double contacts when i type them in. However the contacts in the phone are not doubled. They are not doubled on my gmail account. Any way to fix this?

Every single contact, or are the telephone numbers different?

if the tel#s are different, then it is probably showing you each contact multiple times to differentiate the phone numbers.

I usually enable the setting to only show mobile numbers to avoid this from happening. of course, if you have a contact with multiple mobile numbers, it may still happen.
