I searched to forums and googled but haven't found anything. I sent an SMS to my wife's AOL and she informed me it came as MMS (vzwpix.com)

So I figured out if I send an SMS too an email address via Handcent, it goes out as MMS.

BUT, if I send the same message to an email address via Android Messaging, it properly goes out as SMS.

    An idea why?

Just a few words. 3 I think. Usual sms length. In fact I sent duplicates, one through native android messaging and one through handcent to see what would happen. Android messaging arrived via vtext, handcent arrived via vzwpix which is MMS.

It is in Handcent settings that it converts 3 or more SMSes into an MMS.

Yeah that sucks.... at the beginning i had the same problem, you can modify that in the settings menu. Even today i have an issue with the Handcent app, it "eat" spaces in the sms and send the sms in two, so im charged twice.....
