Can some enlightened soul please tell me what the key combination is to hard reset the Samsung Galaxy?

What seems to have happened is that some of the buttons have stopped responding (Menu, Home and Call) so I can't go into the settings to hard reset. I really am starting to lose patience with this phone. Samsung are absolute rubbish

For recovery mode press volume_down+call+power button. After boot, press menu button to start recovering.

To get out of recovery mode press home+back button for five seconds.

Also update the firmware if you havent already. What version are you on?

I recently updated to II5 but didn't hard reset after that. Today I've downgraded to IH8 to see if it makes a difference, but apparently it doesn't, hence the hard reset

    Thanks for the information

It's definitely a hardware issue. pressing the Call button doesn't work even when the phone is switched off. Better call O2 then *sigh*

Check that your camera button isnt stuck in. I remember this was a popular issue on the german site.

    Hehe yeah :)

np. Btw if you do update and it doesnt do a factory reset (usually if you use odin with a single tar file - i.e. no userdata section), you should do one yourself. Otherwise I've found its starts crashing pretty soon.

see that both side of camera button has come up. if one end is down, three button you have indicated will not work. its design problem. both end of camera button should be on top. i hope this will solve your problem
