    Per title.

When did you receive yours? I have not received mine. I know about the force update but I want to see it come up as a notification.

The Google release said "This update will be rolled out gradually to phones - and most users might not receive the notification until the end of the week."

No idea why the delay except maybe to have a few users ensure there's no disaster with a bad update.

Also no idea where the "force" update came from.

    Thank you.

The force update is about downloading the patch itself and applying it to your sdcard manually.

The OTA update will be staggered. I remember when 2.0.1 rolled out for the Droid, only 10k people got it the first day, then a little more the second, and so on.

So of course, a lot of people got it the first day (Engadget did as they had a video up almost immediately), and it is because of those people's phone logs that we were able to backtrace the link that's posted up in the force guide.

Got it on the first day, early too. Update priority is obviously not geographically based, since I'm in Thailand.

so given the nexus sales figures and based on the droid update numbers, every nexus should have had the update by yesterday lol

Its probably to prevent mass bricking if anything happens. If people report issues with it the rollout would get stopped.

It's reversed geographical. Small markets will receive it first because a NYC rollout, for example, could be a major problem if the update starts causing trouble on phones.

This is also why I don't force update. If there are issues, I'll wait for them to clear it up instead of forcing a faulty update onto my phone.

Don't forget that those in test markets such as the UK may have bought their Nexus One direct from Google as there may be no carriers selling them yet. As such, there is no operator to "push" the update and therefore a manual update needs to be done or the phone may login to Google and offer the user the option to "pull" an update.

Nah, I don't have a carrier to "push" my update (Google doesn't even ship the N1 to Thailand, and over here carriers don't push anything to start with). I'm fairly sure the OTA comes directly from Google.

Actually plenty of users on foreign carriers have reported getting the update which would imply that the update is carrier independent.

And to answer the OP - I'm in NYC and have yet to get the update...

My update notification came in the form of a dialog box, not a notification in the notification pane. In other words, I had to turn the screen on to see the notification; it did not light up the trackball.

Like SPX I had to wake my phone up in order to see the update dialog box. It's currently downloading to my phone as I write this. I'm in NYC.

Just an FYI, I don't have a Nexus 1 phone plan. I'm using my old plan from my RAZR. I wonder if that makes a difference.

Do you get data on your Nexus One? If so, you should receive the OTA update. The update will come as long as you have data coverage via wifi or the cell network.

My update just came through. The added multi-touch is freakin' sweet! It makes it so much easier to zoom in and out on web pages.
