    Hi,

Have tried Helix Launcher and Zeam instead of the standard home launcher. Right now on Zeam.
Battery life has increased, but too early to say how much.

Uptime is now 30 hours and I have 60% battery left.

Must admit that I am not a heavy user, some wifi, sms and phone calls.
    Listening to music, ...

Don't use 3G since it is not allowed by my employer.
Don't use any task killers or anything like that. I used to but my phone seems to be lasting longer without it.

How does zeam save battery? Isn't it just a home replacement apk?

not sure about Zeam, but if you google helix launcher, you will see a fair few post from ppl saying battery life improves with it.

one other tip on the battery life thing.. its worth restarting your phone after a recharge... this will help... how I don't know but it does ;-)

I put Helix on yesterday. Unplugged my phone at 6:50AM at 96%, 14 hours later I'm at 70% with BT on 50% of the time and some light wifi. A normal day, I'd be at 30 by now.

Installed Helix last night and was impressed, have tried ADW Launcher this morning and am equally impressed.

Am torn between which one to use...may go for ADW for a while as it has a few more options to speed up the transitions on screen.

Will be interested to see if either are better for battery life :p

No problem mate just go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select either Helix or ADW from the program list (depending which one you have currently set as default).
Then press 'Clear Defaults' under the Launch by Default option and voila' all is cleared :D

I second zeam too, helix is good but I prefer zeam. Also I read about a bug in helix that if you lower the number of screens it freezes your phone so I'm a bit skeptical about using it.
I've yet to try ADW though so might give that a whirl

Hi there, first post. I just tried ADW on my x10, I like it a lot, but I found that the interface became a little laggy. For example, to finger swipe to the next screen, used to just swipe quickly, but now I have to pause for a split second and then swipe.

I was hoping to check out how much cpu usage it or other things were using. Basically figure out what is causing the lag, ADW or something else. Anyone know of a good cpu/mem monitor I can download? I am going to try the stock system monitor, but a widget would be preferrable.

    Thanks!

    Great forum by the way.

Been using Helix for few days now along with Taskpanel to kill apps occasionally. Took my phone off charge at 8:30am yesterday, been using it for internet use sometimes with wifi sometimes on 3g, fair few texts, few calls and a 20 min sat nav journey. Its 34 hours later and im still on 34% battery remaining. Before that it would have been needing charging around 12-14 hours.

Off the top of my head I think it's the bottom left physical button and there's a pop up menu at the bottom of the screen and it's in there or they'll be a more option
