I've been researching android as my VRZ plan is up. I am in construction with a focus on historic preservation and restoration. In the past I have stuck with the most durable basic phone available.

On the other hand I love technology and can see myself benefiting from a smartphone. Advanced calculators, photo capability, day planers, GPS and web searching are the functions I need most. I have multiple methods to cover these bases at present but could really use google in my pocket.

Love the open nature of android and like the ability to write my own apps. It's been awhile but I had some Java and C experience in collage and enjoy writing code in moderation. I'm in the posses of installing the SDK. All the guides are a little outdated but I'm almost there.

At some point I'll make a decision on a phone. Like a lot of things about the N1 yet think the droid may be a more solid design. I tend to be extreemly hard on things. Any suggestions here?

    That's enough rambling for now.
    cheers,
    VW
