    Hi,

Ive been in past a Blackberry user and recently got a HTC Hero Via Sprint. Have to say I absolutely love it. So far its awesome. Was going to get the Evo but they were on back order. Anyhow this will work for now and get me in the door with a Android.

So far ive upgraded from 1.5 to 2.1

But im really looking to do more. Id like to Root my Phone. Any great guides or recommendations?

Im also looking for some specific Apps. One of them that would do Talk to text. Looking for direction on what to avoid and what is good. Any tips and stuff like that would be MUCH appreciated.!!

    Thanks!!

    Steven58,

Looks like I need to back up all my stuff before rooting as my Version of 2.1 is a Sprint Version where they patched Rooting. So im going to backward flash it to a 2.1 version that can be rooted. Of course this will wipe everything out ive got already. But is there a App thats Superior to others to back up All my stuff like contacts, Apps ect... that you'd recommend? Dont care if its free or not. Just one that works. Soooo Much stuff to learn and find Lol. But im loving it.

Was just looking. Isnt this for Rooted phones only? Atleast the one I found while searching the Market on my phone was. My phones Not rooted yet.

Before I can root I need to back up All my Info,Data, Apps, Contacts ect ect. THEN because ive got the Sprint version of 2.1 that broke the rooting ability. So I have to flash it back to the non-patched version so i can root. Then run what I want.

Anything else out there that works well with a non-rooted phone?
