Help! Daughter's rooted lg ls885 only boots into Android System Recovery

It won't matter none for now. Trying to find what we need. Just in case i'm downloading the .TOT file so i can extract what we need for it.

Since you said someone else was doing the steps earlier. Do you mind giving it a try?

1.Power Off the LG G3
2.Plug in a MicroUSB Cable into Your Computer
3.Press and Hold the Volume Up Button on the LG G3
4.Plug in a MicroUSB Cable While Still Holding the Volume Up Button
5.Wait Until You See a Firmware Update Screen
6.Let Go of the Volume Up Button

Did that and goes back to the download mode with the fastboot processing commands again.

I have posted to this forum, waiting for a definite answer. I did see on XDA it was ok to change the extension to .img but i'd hate to go off one post and put you in a worse situation.
There is a member on this forum @iowabowtech that can more than likely give a definitive answer. As i have seen @iowabowtech answer and provide LG files for different posts on the forum.

After confirmation from @iowabowtech and valuable information regarding your device we are good to go.
Unfortunately it's late here 12:43 am and my eyes are burning from looking at my PC all day. I can reconnect via Teamviewer later today and help you fix the device.
Thank you so much! I actually fell asleep before getting this and was worried I had missed you. Antime, I am home all day:)

(4:19:47 PM) James: One sec
(4:25:27 PM) James: Ok looks good so far one sec
(4:25:31 PM) Visitor 66398797: ok
(4:25:41 PM) James: Does the battery come out?
(4:25:45 PM) Visitor 66398797: yes
(4:26:45 PM) James: Ok unplug the phone then remove the battery for lets say 30 seconds. Then reinsert the battery, leave the phone off don't touch the power button.
(4:26:53 PM) James: Once that's done let me know.
(4:27:47 PM) Visitor 66398797: do you want me to plug it back in after i put the battery back in?
(4:28:25 PM) James: Not yet. Leave it disconnected, once that is done. Then hold volume up, don't let go and reconnect the phone while holding volume up. Once it shows firmware update let go.

(4:29:32 PM) Visitor 66398797: firmware screen is showing! Whoohoo
(4:29:35 PM) James: Perfect we have download mode now!
(4:29:52 PM) James: Now the last step is to prepare flash tool and get the tot file downloaded.
(4:30:01 PM) James: Then it should boot up like new
(4:30:09 PM) James: Let me get the links
(4:30:12 PM) Visitor 66398797: ok
(4:31:49 PM) Visitor 66398797: will this put the phone back into being unrooted?
(4:31:54 PM) James: Yes it will, but it's easy to root
(4:32:31 PM) Visitor 66398797: yeah. i used the lg one click root last time. very easy. Should I use that again?
(4:32:39 PM) James: I think one click tools are nice but it's always better to learn to do it manually.
(4:33:28 PM) James: I would think ZV4 is 4.4.2
(4:33:33 PM) James: Not sure what you had before
(4:33:54 PM) James: If it's 4.4.2 there is a different one you can use or you could just update the device
(4:34:08 PM) James: Then use the one you used prior
(4:36:52 PM) James: Everything is good to go, the last step is waiting on the tot file and letting it flash
(4:37:27 PM) Visitor 66398797: OK. Do you have a link where I can learn to root this manually?
(4:37:55 PM) James: Yes one sec
(4:39:20 PM) James: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
(4:40:08 PM) James: This page shows how to do it using cmd
(4:40:19 PM) Visitor 66398797: Thank you
(4:40:26 PM) James: you're welcome.
(4:43:39 PM) James: One sec let me get the dll file
(4:44:32 PM) Visitor 66398797: No problem. It's fascinating to watch you do this. I need to go back to school! Lol
(4:45:18 PM) James: Thanks. Looking through my web history to get the correct dll
(4:52:46 PM) James: Ok unplug the phone for 10 seconds then reconnect and flash tool will do it's thing.
(4:53:34 PM) Visitor 66398797: ok
(4:54:01 PM) James: If it says failed after 85% don't worry. By that time it will have started rebooting
(4:54:18 PM) James: Sometimes it will get to 100% most times not though
(4:54:24 PM) Visitor 66398797: ok
(4:55:47 PM) James: It should start rebooting
(4:56:30 PM) Visitor 66398797: It's on a screen that says Auto Touch Test,Don't touch the screen
(4:56:46 PM) James: Ok i have seen that before, give me just a sec to think how to get out of that. And to normal boot.
(5:02:08 PM) James: Press power button first and then while still holding power , tap on "normal boot (+power)
(5:02:37 PM) Visitor 66398797: ok. It's rebooting

So, after all your beautiful hard work, the phone started up and ran beautifully. One problem though, it won't get a signal. I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Sprint. It's a bad SIM card. Lol. So we're taking in the phone tomorrow so they can replace the SIM or do a trade. Just shaking my head now
