Ahhh I think I've really screwed up my android real bad, it was rooted and I uninstalled the TW.Launcher and replaced it with Launcher pro I have now just foolishly done a factor reset resulting in their being NO launcher so when I start up my samsung galaxy s it is just the unlock screen, I swipe to unlock it and then get an error message saying

"the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly please try again."

i then just get a black screen! help would be appreciated lots!

First, if you have a nandroid backup, this would be the time to do a restore.
IF not, boot into recovery and re flash your rom.

Also, I've moved your thread to the GAlaxy S all things root.
You'll get more support here is you continue to have problems.

do i NEED the usb cable to flash it?! I don't have one atm

Is the rom still on your sd card?
If it is, just boot into recovery, select flash rom from card (might say something different since we use different phones),
    and flash it.

So no, you dont need USB cable, unless you removed the rom from your sd card after you first rooted.

nope it isn't but im sure i could download a rom from the net and stick it on my sd card? Put my sd card in and boot it up?!

oh and do you know where i can find a rom from? somewhere OTHER than http://www.webs.com/frozen.htm?uname=samsung-firmware because that page is broke...

as far as i know, if you wanna flash a rom you'll have to have the rom file on your internal memory rather than the micro sd card. on the other hand you cannot mount the internal memory in order to copy the rom onto it. Did you try wiping everything from the recovery? that would be the first thing i'd try. good luck

Right here... in this forum :D.
I found this one for you:
    http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s-a...o-touchwiz-pre-rooted-lagfix-12-9-2010-a.html

I do not believe this is correct. The rom/zip file should be on the root of your SD card in order to be able to flash it.

First, you put in on the root of your sd card. Root means do not stick it in any folders. right on the card.

Second, boot into recovery. if you dont know how to boot into recovery please ask... I'm sure someone can tell you. I dont know how to do it on your phone, but it's generally pretty simple.

Thanks so much, I'm going to try this now and I'll let you know how I've got on! If it fails then hope is not lost as I'll have my usb cable tomorrow I just miss my poor android :(

edit: mmm i put it on the root of my sd card and then inserted the sd card into my android put it in recovery yet it's not showing up grrr

Not showing up when you try to flash it from recovery?

Ok, so you downloaded it from that site I posted... Then you should have the .zip file on your card....correct? I think it's named rombie-something.zip

There has to be something simple you're overlooking.

Also, did you say you deleted the original files from your card after you rooted? Because they should still b there...

well it was only a root file thingy like it doesn't have any roms on i don't think, ahhh this is really confusing me so much :( I really don't know what to do and surely I wont be able to get a replacement if I'm too nooby enough to fix it myself?

would it be easier if i took some pictures and posted them so you can get a better idea?!

this is what happens in restore screen, the update.zip was my root file but nothing happens when I click it.

the device turns on and this screen comes up and all appears normal

as soon as i unlock it this error message appears because there's no launcher installed

after i click ok, just a black screen and i can't do anything apart from pull down the notifications bar

this is the zip file in the root of the card (it says blackberry because it's inserted into my blackberry so i can put the file on)

To flash your phone you need to reboot your phone in download mode not in recovery mode.

You can download a stock firmware for your Galaxy s here (you need to register.)

You need odin to flash your phone, you can also download that from the link i gave you, remember to read the guide they have explaining how to flash.

Go to the link i posted before, download a stock firmware and flash your phone following the instructions you found in that site.
Chose the right firmware, they are dived by region/country.
