I'm sort of a noob at this so please be patient. I was getting worried about removing the bloatware and I figured it would be nice to make a backup of the apps in case me or someone else needed them later. I copied the directory to my sd card but it wont show up when I plug my phone into my computer. I used this:

    cp /system/app/* sdcard/backup/

Everything shows up as I expected in astro, but when I plug in my phone I'm missing a bunch of files and folders. Why aren't these showing up?

What are you using to do the backups?
Are you using a windows command line, some app like terminal emulator?

    edit:

    Also use: cp /system/app/* /sdcard/*

I'm using adb, so yeah terminal emulator would be the same thing. Everything worked as I thought it should, I just can't see it and I don't know why.

Astro can do it natively. I prefer estrongs.
