    Hello Members!
Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Trident, your friendly phone guide. I'm not too familiar with the i7500 but have heard this place could use some cleaning up. Let me know what I do to achieve that by posting your tip/ suggestion in this thread. Any stickies need to be added, which need to be tossed out, etc? POST IT HERE!
I plan on sticking around for a while so if any of you folks who frequent this forum ever need anything, I'm always a PM away!

    Regards,
    Trident

Hi Trident, , the main problem I can see is that the Samsung i7500 Has been out in Europe for a while and then released in different countries over a varied period of time, causing the same questions to be asked over and over again. I do not know what the other members of the forum think ( I am not speaking on there behalf ) but I find in general that the forum seem's to work. Perhaps a few more of the FAQ could be added so that the new members do not post so frequently if this is what you mean by a clean up :)

the problem is that alot of them read the faq and say they dont understand but the faq's i created are in the simplest forms and they are trying to get it even simpler lol

Trident you will need someone with full admin access to unlock the stickes and edit/add info to them.

the reason i locked them was to stop people posting in them and posting in the relevant threads that were linked instead.
I think guides should have access to edit/lock and unlock stickies personally. it maybe a suggestion to go back to phases.

I am no longer an moderator on here as i wasnt active enough on other forums

I have a trick that'll allow me to open it, edit and reclose... It would change the author from you to me though. I won't do it just yet as I'm going to bring your idea up with Phases so that it won't be necessary to do so.

    Hi,

I sent a message like this to quite a few people, starting with Rastaman-FB, KlaymenDK and then to Phases (very recently), so I'm guessing maybe this has something to do with it. :D

What I was saying is that the Tutorials/Guides/Buglists thread is a little misleading, meaning that it is written at the end to contact Rastaman-FB or Kam187, both of which aren't admins and can't edit the sticky anymore.

At first I only wanted to add this tutorial to the sticky, but a full cleanup would be great! Thanks for not letting us down, the phone is quite recent in some countries, such as Canada.

Yep we got a memo from Phases in one of the team forums yesterday, so I volunteered to come over here and help out. One of the moderators, twospirits, is going to open these threads for me some time today or tomorrow so that I can update them and then he'll close them back up. What else needs to be added/ done here?

the i7500 was rooted quit early in its life, we probably have the easiest and effective rooting method.

so yes, its been rooted for about 9months if not more

Okay, great! I have already PMed Phases about adding an All Things Root subforum here. He's usually pretty quick about making subforums these days so we should see it before the end of today.

There is a guide posted about how to upgrade to Galaxo - please sticky it. Looks useful. I plan to try it out later, when I get time.

Right, like I said, I PMed Phases to make a rooting subfroum yesterday. I think I saw somewhere that Phases was out of town over the weekend, so hopefully we'll get it today. Then I'll move everything root related into that subforum and sticky that post for ya.

Wait, so flashing a custom firmware and rooting are the same thing? Perhaps I'm being more daff than usual, but I always thought that rooting meant accessing "restricted" parts of the phone. Custom firmware doesn't necessarily have that, does it ?

Moved some threads to the All Things Root subforum.
I'm sure that I missed some. Post links to threads that still need to be moved here.

I really hate to ask you to do this...
Could you go through the i7500 forum and click the check box to the right of each thread that needs (including the ones above) to be moved to the root subforum. Then when you're done selecting, press the drop down menu at the bottom of any page and select "View Selected Threads" followed by the "Go" button. Then send me the link to the page that opens. That would be a really big help!
