I have a Droid X and a Samsung Captivate. I also have an iPhone 4. I voted "other" because I like the Captivate the best of all the Android phones I have. It's also very sleek, thin and has no physical buttons, a real plus as there is nothing to collect dust or pocket lint, or fail.

One thing the OP did not say is if a physical keyboard is of importance to him/her. As a long time BlackBerry user, it's the first thing I missed. Then with the advent of Swype... and the Samsung Captivate, I find that I can create emails faster than I could after several years with a BlackBerry. I never thought I would say that as I was quite dependent on a physical keyboard.

Not only is Swype an amazing and fast input method it's fun and very easy to use. Typo's I used to make on the BlackBerry are a thing of the past with Swype.

However this is the exciting aspect of new technologies, as there is usually something around the bend that changes everything. Swype is that killer app for me. If not for that, I would most probably still be using a BB for my messaging. Especially given the fact that I handle about 40 emails per day from the smartphone I carry.

As much as I like my Droid X with the 4.3" display, and as one that places keyboard and display features above all else, the one overriding factor that makes the Captivate more appealing to me is the Super AMOLED display. It's so much clearer, brighter and more vivid that the TFT of the Droid X, the .3" difference in size is simply not worth it. At and even 4.0" the display of the Captivate seems to be the sweet spot.

Funny what we get used to, suddenly the 3.5" display of the iPhone 4 seems positively tiny.

    Cheers... :)

Well I currently have a iPhone 3G so a keyboard isn't important one way or another. I liked the keyboard when I had my blackberry but it didn't take long to forget about it with the iPhone.

I am a pretty heavy user of text/email/FB and web browsing. I don't watch a lot of movies but mainly because I don't like buying things from iTunes. I also use a lot of apps.

Ill be buying the phone from here ---> ACN Wireless Services - Choose From All Major Carriers as I have found they have good prices. So my options are those on the Verizon network sold at this site. Thanks again for the input.

I've been trying to make the same decision for the past 2 weeks. It's not an easy choice. But after going into the store and playing with those 3 (DX, D2, Dinc), I think it's between the Dinc or the DX for me. I really liked the screen size of the DX for reading browsing the internet. The larger screen also makes it a lot easier to type. But then you have to carry it around and it is pretty big. I didn't care for the DX UI. I thought the Dinc Sense UI system was far superior, with things like Leap, and even the copy/paste mechanic was well thought out. Sense UI just felt like it was a smarter more advanced UI. But right now I am still on the fence on which one I am going to buy. When I left the store I thought I thought the Dinc was the one for me. Now I'm thinking it might be the DX. Who knows what it will be next week.

I been using my Evo, which by phone standards most people consider a clunker (friggin' big), and from my use since release, I can't praise the screen size enough. Sure, it feels abnormally HUGE the first week (I had a Hero before my Evo. It'll be even weirder if you had an even smaller phone before hand) you have it, but after awhile, it becomes normal. My dad, unfortunately, still has his Moment. When I have to do something with his phone, my god, it feels like a toy you'd give to some 5 or 6 year old! My other friend with a Palm Pre, WOW. That's all I can say. That thing now feels like it's too small to use. The Pixi is 15x worse after you get accustomed to the honkin' 4.3" screen on the Evo.

I'm telling you this much, with a screen this big, there's no going wrong with the Droid X. That is, unless you're a dwarf. In which case, I suggest something like the Tatto. It's itty bitty.

TLDR: Get the Droid X if you can, it's the best!

Tomorrow I'm hoping to be able to make it to a VZ store to play with the phones so I can make up my mind. And then purchase it online :D for a lower price.

If you do that, you'll be waiting for it instead of walking out tomorrow (today, technically here in FL) with it in hand.

Pay slightly less online... get it later. Pay slightly more in-store... get it now.

Definitely compare the specs and check them out in person (same as any device comparison). Picking one is always highly subjective.

Precisely! There's a big difference between the device on paper vs trying one first hand.

True but I can save 50% on the phone on the website I post earlier and will have it in two days and still have a 30 trial period. I can wait two days to save that kind of money ;)
