Help Help needed Japanese S3 Clone

So i got an S3 from my father But its an Japanese S3 clone i would like if its possible to remove its current OS to change it to a european version
Its pretty immposible to use it right now

Do you have a model number or any more info?

If it is a clone then it has different hardware (chips etc) so genuine s3 firmware just wont work on it so youre pretty much stuck with it how it is
If youre lucky you could maybe root it which will let you customise it a lot.
Some clones are pre-rooted so download the app "Root Checker" to see.
Post a screenshot of settings, about phone, if you can :thumbup:

I have no acces to the root and the hardware is called mt6575

Yeah theres pretty much nothing you can do with that
It isnt an s3 so it runs completely different drivers, kernel, etc.
All you can really do is search for that model online and see if anyone has found a way to root it :thumbup:

Probably the os is the same as the ussual s3 will it be possible to use its same root?

No, almost certainly not. It's completely different hardware, and Android always has to be built for the hardware. There's a lot more to it than just the version number. So it's most likely that the exploit used to root an S3 will not work. And while I'm not familiar with rooting S3s, I can tell you that flashing software intended for them to a clone, such as a custom recovery, is likely to render the phone unusable (and as it's hard to find the right software for a generic clone that would be very hard to fix)!.

Look at it this way: would you expect root tools for a HTC One S or a Motorola RAZR Maxx to work on your S3 clone? Because internally the clone phone probably has as much in common with them as it does with an S3 (indeed the North American S3, which used a Qualcomm chipset, probably has more in common with those phones than it has with a MediaTek-based clone).
