Help Help with updating apps on sd card

I can not get my apps to update that are on my SD Card. If I move them to the phone, they will update but not from the SD Card.

HELP!

How many apps do you have on the sdcard? It might be a bit of a pain, but move all of your apps back to internal storage (if you have room), connect you phone to your computer and mount it as usb storage (or use any file browser capable of viewing hidden directories), and delete the .android_secure directory that is in the top level of the sdcard. Once that is done, start moving apps back to the card, and see if you can update them.

At long last I found a solution.
For some reason I had trouble locating this file with astro, bit easily located it on my PC.

After connecting to your computer as a disc drive navigate to the folder '. android_secure'... delete the file named 'smdl2tmp1'.
What a stupid problem.... but this works. I used it on my evo
