Hey guys, love android and i am really wanting to get an android phone soon (finally) ive been looking at the hero and i think its pretty awesome and the senseui looks amazing, but ive also heard that the htc magic is going to get that update too and its much cheaper, also the htc hero has been out for a while now and i was wondering if i should hold out for something better that is coming soon?

The HTC hero is a great phone, i have one myself as for its counters part the 'magic' - HTC is a great make of mobiles so any of their phones are right up there with the best. See:-

However in terms of its comparison to the magic, i'm not sure, specifications between the two phones are pretty similar. the HTC has a few small glitches. The biggest one for me is bluetooth, on android 1.5 you can't send files through bluetooth at the moment, however HTC has released a statement saying android 2.1 will be available for the hero. See:-
HTC Hero Android 2.0 Eclair Update Confirmed

I haven't seen any publicity releases for magic. i actually came across an article saying eclair doesn't work on magic. Eclair is the icing on the hero as this update will bring bluetooth functionality as well as a few other issues and general speed of the phone. Not sure how lonng you may have to wait for it though. Coz if you get a branded phone your provider will want to tweak the phone for their network before releasing it. hope this helps. Any questions PM me!
