Today was my first full day using it from a complete charge. I was mid-heavy using it today since I was all excited and using every feature possible (except camera). It went from 100% - 0% from 7am - 6pm. Just wondering how everyone else did.

  2. 15 hours of moderate use today and my battery was still at 27% when I plugged it in. Thats with a custom live wallpaper running too. My Evo, even with its 1800MAH extended battery would have needed the charger around 9 hours and dead by the 10th. Very impressed with the stock Nexus battery and I still have a 1750MAH showing up tomorrow!

    8:30am to 6:30pm

    About 5 calls

    20 mins of hotspot

Some music streaming, browsing... pretty heavy use.

    Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I said elsewhere I'm getting about 8 hours daily. But I never shut it off for more than a few minutes. That's phone calls, streaming music, internet/forum browsing etc.

Yesterday after 12 hours I still had 50% left. I have twitter syncing every 2 hours, gmail push, words for friends, I did a little browsing, some music streaming and text messaging, usual stuff for me, but with my epic it would have been crying for the charger. so happy I made the switch.

As for aftermarket batteries, I see there is a 3200mah option out there. Is there a 2200-2500 mah battery for the Nexus S? Hopefully something that will still allow the use of the ezestand.

I've noticed that my battery lasts for the whole day (12hrs more or less) with moderate gaming approx 2hrs, no bluetooth, no gps, Sync ON, WiFi ON, some browsing, watched some youtube videos, browsed the marketplace for a solid 20mins, made a few calls, checked through the facebook app every once in a while, and other random phone operations.

i went thru all my apps and checked for who and what was updating. i unistalled noled and sensolry. i also stopped lattitude from tracking. so far so good, it's been off the charger for over 6 hours - alot of calls, some browsing and i'm at 47% much better than previously.

I posted this on another thread but this is what i got on my 2nd day of real use off the charger.

I have noticed that it does show to be full around 96 or 97%. But after only having the phone a few days, i'm getting great battery life. After 12hr of normal to medium use my battery was down to 36%. I have a 1750mah battery on the way, and I will see how much use i can get out of it. And I will check if the charge level is different.

For me about 15hr before I hit 62%. Thats sending text and pics all day, playing a few games, some Youtube, and a little Netflix. I never turn the gps off, and only I use the 4g once in a while. I have the Seidio 1750mah battery and it holds very well.

My results are very similar. My phone lasted a full 12 hours yesterday (..which was my first full day with the phone). I am a fairly heavy texter/WordFeuder, so the performance of this phone is outstanding when compared to my previous Epic 4g.

19 hours? Are you rooted and using Juice Defender or something? Larger battery than stock?

I just got my Nexus S 4G 2 days ago. I'm coming from a HTC Hero which I've had for a year and a half (which had great battery life on CM7).
I have not changed any settings on the Nexus S yet, and my 4G is turned off. My battery life is horrible. The battery level ends up in the yellow danger zone after about 6 hours of minimal use. And when I check to see battery usage, it says that "Gallery" is taking ~65% of my battery life. wtf? I haven't even transfered any pictures to the new phone or taken a picture yet! Yesterday I force-closed it. When I went to bed last night the phone was fully charged. I wanted to see how long it would last sitting idle overnight. Woke up 10 hours later (I overslept) and battery is in yellow zone again, and "Gallery" used 62% of battery. I'm baffled. I just power cycled and I will see if the problem goes away. I will give it a couple more days of testing and if it's not fixed, the phone is going to be returned.
p.s. After power cycling I immediately checked the list of running apps and "Gallery" is running. Why is it running, I didn't turn it on?

Ok so I'm on day 4 1/2 with my new Nexus S 4G. Still having battery life problems and every time I check whats using the battery life, it says "Gallery" has used up 50-60%. And I still haven't taken a single picture or transfered a single file over from my old phone. For the past 24 hours I am trying to not use the phone at all, I'm just checking it once in a while to see how my battery is doing.
I really don't want to return the phone because I think its the most awesome phone in the world, if it would just work good.
When I turned on the phone and logged in for the first time last week, it automatically downloaded and installed all of the programs I had on my previous phone. I would like to try reseting to factory default but not install any apps and run it totally stock for a while. I can't find a setting to stop automatic app installing, can someone tell me where the setting is for this?? Thanks.

    It's been 11h 17m 43s since I last charged and I am at 37%

This is with regular use, several calls, lots of internet use, no wi-fi, and 4G only when I needed it.

The Nexus S has the best battery life I've seen on an android smart phone by a large margin.

I'm curious, under Battery Use, what are your top items? Mine are:
    1) Display 43% (and I keep it at the lowest brightness, solid black wallpaper, and w/ 1 min timeout)
    2) Android System 10%
    3) Maps 7%
    4) GPS Status 5%
    5) Android OS 5%
    6) Cell standby 5%

I'm getting around 10h before I have to plug in. But its brand new and only been charged a couple of times.

Go into account and sync settings. Turn off sync on picasa web albums.

Hate to sound like a novice (which I am), but I cannot find Picasa on the phone/sync settings - could someone point me to it?

Settings->accounts and sync->click on your Google account. There it will show you the check boxes for all Google's services that you have installed.
