Just making the obligatory introduction. Joined the forum as I'll be getting either the Droid or the Eris when they come out next week...Seems like the general consensus is that the Droid is the clear winner, but wanted to see if I could hear someone give me a pro-HTC argument as to why I should get that instead of the Droid (other than the 'Motorola has historically made crappy phones' argument)...Anybody?

Does anyone know if you'll be able to have the htc platform on the droid? I like the touch htc put on their os and I want to lean towards the Eris because of that but it seems like everyone likes the Mot. In the long run do you think it's a personal pref or that the Motorola will be THAT much better?

My concern with the HTC Eris is only 4 hours battery life, less memory and I have read people having problems with the track ball.

No...your concern must be w the Sprint Hero. If not, source, please?

All info states that the specs are just like the hero. That being said 4 hours battery life, 133 mb internal memory and there have been several complaints of the track ball. While yes it is the Hero, the eris is the hero with a different name, I have concerns for that. I will be getting my first droid phone on 11/6. I like the looks of the HTC Eris better, but think the Droid will fit my needs better.
