I just got an LG Ally a few weeks ago. This week I installed the Velocity ROM on it, and have noticed some improvements over the Verizon stock ROM. Thanks to Trident for all his hard work on this :)

Overall, while I love Android, I have to say that the experience with the LG Ally has been frustrating. It seems that the hardware just isn't up to the stock ROM that Verizon provided. Of course, the guys in the store are useless in trying to figure out how to solve these kinds of problems.

Many of the problems I had seen, and that others have experienced, have been partly or fully fixed by the Velocity ROM. Now, the phone can lock onto GPS satellites and doesn't corrupt the SD card anymore. There are still some issues I'm hoping an upgrade to the v.3 ROM will help. If not, I'll be posting in the forums :)
