And a bright multi colored bar on the right side.
Time to take it into htc.
cool story bro
Did you drop your Nexus?
No I never dropped it
the glass cracked or the monitor cracked?
The glass under the touch screen is cracked.
I can still type like I am right now, but the screen is dim and purplish.
I'm at work. ill take pics when I get home.
Wow man, that really sucks, I feel for you.
All of this is making me kinda scared.. I don't know if I've got warranty on this phone. I bought it completely new and all.. but off ebay because it was never available here.
Its actually the lcd under the screen that is cracked and leaking ink under the screen.
Ill be off work in half an hour to take pics for you.
I'm in Houston.
I heard there is an htc center here?
If so, turn around should be quick.
Pics or it didn't happen.
ok, i just got home and i'm wondering what number i should call for support?
edit: yes, correct number.
i just called and they are going to send me a shipping label in 24 hours.
they said cracked glass is not under warranty and it will probably cost $150.00
man, this really f'ing sucks.
i have never dropped or squashed my phone and i have to pay for it.
i baby the phone.
if it happens again im going to be super pissed.
Unfortunately, that has been standard for any hand held I have ever owned. The screens are not covered.
Sorry it happened to you.
Sorry for the blurry pictures.
i didn't know that.
i haven't ever had to send a phone in for repair except for one of my sidekicks that the trackball wasn't responding.
Damm bro that sucks
Sent from a Cuban prison camp
That suck dude. But how did you manage to take such blurry pics?
Anyway, you might look into insuring the phone if you're really worried. Most plans have deductibles, but they're way less than $150 for a new screen, and you can usually get a new device first.
I vote for these being the most blurry pics ever!
i dunno lol i was holding the camera pretty still...
its too late for me to get insurance now and get a cheaper repair, right?
To late? No.
Insurance fraud? Yes.
Not tempted to buy and fit another yourself?
so, if i got insurance before i sent it in, i wouldn't have to pay?
and what, replace the screen myself?
maybe, but it's so such an expensive phone, i didn't want to mess it up.
i've modded psp's and replaced screens on other devices.
maybe i should?
If it was only your glass that was cracked, I'd say go for it. But if it where me, I wouldn't risk messing with the amoleds.
If you insured it, it would be through a third party like Square Trade. They say on the site that you have to buy within 90 days of getting the device, but I don't know how they would tell. You wouldn't send the phone to HTC. Just file a claim and get a new phone. Presumably you'd have to send the busted one to Square Trade. But as was state above, it isn't on the up and up to get the insurance after you break it.
thats ok ill spend the 150 this time and be done with it.
only cost me $115 or maybe it was $125 for the exact same thing, sure yours will be the same, also turn around from HTC is fast.
glad to hear its fast.
i'm just glad its in TX like me.
i just now got the fedex label...been waiting since last sat
will ship tomorrow morning!
