Hi all,
New here. Just git my Incredible a couple weeks ago. I got the blinking light of doom the 2nd night. I guess listening to audiobooks and surfing the web while charging will do that to a girl.
Right a.t.m. it's running @ 36.9c/99.0f. Just came off the charger and have been surfing for about an hour. Hard plastic case that never comes off.
Here's something easier for peeps to use: 20 degrees celsius = 68 degrees fahrenheit.
25C=77F, 30C=86F and so on. 5 degrees C is 9 degrees F. Reverse is the same: 15C=59F, 10C=50F. Get it?
Can somebody post what their temp is after over an hour of non-streamed music playback through the headphone jack? I'll do it and post what I get. Music playing, screen off, nothing else in foreground.
I do this ALL the time except I use music from my sd card. The thing doesn't just stop charging for me. It reboots. You know how much that sucks when you are driving and need GPS directions!?! I find holding it up to the AC keeps it cool for a bit more. try that
Haha, sorry, I forgot to! I just took a temp of 26.2 deg.C with the phone being out of my pocket, playing music. I had recently replied to a txt. I know it's been stated by many, but keeping the phone in your pocket keeps it hot. I'd assume my pocket is at least 85 deg.F (not considering outside temp. and the sunlight), so the phone needs to be around that from heat transfer.
It just seems so crazy to me that these phones are so hot all the time. I would think that they're ready for a catastrophic failure. The battery must be going through a LOT of stress throughout the day. I know heat is bad for lithium ions.
I feel asleep on mine one time and I woke up to a burning sensation on my chest, so I jumped up. I oohed at my phone and it was about 150F our so. I took it off the charger and out it by a fan. cooled down in a few minutes. No long term damage that I can see.
