Help How do I find my kindles drive/ file list?

I don't even know how to phrase this question so I hope someone can help me.

I've downloaded some pdf's on the kindle fire and initially they'll show up in the drop down list, but after I open them up via the tool bar they don't appear anywhere after that. I don't know how to find them. There not in documents, apps, books, anywhere. I've redownloaded the same pdf and the second time it had a little 1 next to the file name. So I know they're in there somewhere. Any help?

Do you have a file explorer installed such as ES File Explorer? It is available in the Amazon Market. You should be able to find your files with this or some other similar app. Hope it helps!
