How do I move my music files to micro SD????Support

Purchased a new M8. Used HTC sync manger to transfer music files to new phone. Added a 16gb micro SD card that was reformatted. For the life of me I cannot figure out the following issues: #1 Where can I adjust settings in HTC Sync to transfer music files to external storage? #2 How can I move my music files from internal storage to external SD card (I can't even find the transferred music files on my phone with file explorer or as usb storage connected to pc). I can play the music but I cannot find where the files are hidden.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks

I gave up on HTC Sync a long time ago (way to buggy) in favor of just manually dragging my music onto the phone. If you want to try that route just connect the phone to the computer, click on the SD Card, make a MUSIC folder, and drag everything there. I just did it on my M8 and it works perfectly.

I finally figured it out! Go to options scroll down to storage then under internal click on the make space or make room or whatever then click on music files and then you can select them by tapping the blank squares to the right of each song and at the bottom of the screen it will say move to sd card

Thanks for the tip evilxfool and welcome to Android Forums and the M8 group. I hope you enjoy your phone and the camaraderie that will grow in this area. All for One and One for all... One M8 that is. :)

Oh the days of the SD card. Is it still slow loading files from the SD card opposed to simply utilizing internal storage?

Here is a bit of an update (for rooted users) that may bring a ray of light to Google's controversial decision to crippled external SD card support:

ES File Explorer update- Bringing some SD card support back to 4.4.2

(sic) Google’s decision to remove external SD card support has been met with some hostility. Users are not happy about this decision, especially those that have invested hundreds of dollars on buying SD cards and applications which have been incapacitated by this change. ES File Explorer had a history of bypassing the default Android constructs by offering root capabilities, including access to system files. This same spirit is evident in their recent update, version 3.1.2 brings the root-only ability to once again read and write files to an external SD card. Check for the update on your device, or hit the Google Play Store to download a fresh copy.

Hell, I can't even attach a file from astro file manager with the attachment setting from the stock mail app. I have to go into astro and do it that way. Come on HTC...

That's not HTC, it's kit Kat.

And me not being able to select a pic from another photo gallery with the default messaging app is Kit Kat too? No, that's all HTC. Hangouts and Gmail permits use of the features I'm bitching about. I don't like Hangouts or Gmail. I have them both disabled.

I definitely understand your frustration but I only stated that Google crippled 3rd party apps from writing anything to external SD, and limited the ability to read only from public folders on the SD card. The article I posted above will give you some insight on this modification that really messed up SD card usage.

There are some stock rooting options that restore SD card functionality if you are interested in going that route

Could you elaborate on your problem with the photo gallery, maybe we can find a solution for you

    HTC reply :-(
This is a feature that Google added to their operating system and there is unfortunately nothing we can do with it as it is Google's decision to add this to Android.

Is this applicable to Motorola android phone?

As long as other phones insist on charging 4-5 times as much for internal storage as one pays for an SD card, I'll gladly stick with the memory card.

I still say it was a ploy to push users to go to cloud storage.
