I am wanting to try the native Android Music Player. I did a search for Music Player in Market, and don't recognize that it is there.

Anyone know how I can get that?

the native music player is HORRIBLE!

the samsung one is praised to be one of the better ones, but I needed one with a widget

    I use either doubletwist:
doubleTwist Player - Android app on AppBrain

    or cubed:

While I also really like the stock Samsung music player, it does not offer controls while the phone is locked. Besides, the Cubed player is simply gorgeous.

Yes it does. On the lock screen is a little CD below the status bar. Just pull it down to see the controls.

After reading your comment, I experimented with this. Apparently it only works if you don't require a pattern to unlock, which I do. Even though I actually prefer the pull-down interface of the Samsung player, it's not worth keeping my phone unlocked.

I am using GoTo Unlock screen and it offers the controls for the native player. Unfortunately, the native player is the only one it does offer it for at the moment. That is why I was wanting to get the native player.
