Ok, how hot is too hot? I'm a bit paranoid about heat, but I don't really know when I should be concerned.

I dont know the real answer but, I think 120F is too hot 115F is pretty warm ... I try to keep below 110F. Most often my phone runs under 100F but streaming and heavy use will put it up there. I have found with my set up I can leave it running at 1.2ghz but if I am gonna watch my slingbox or run pandora and navagation while chargeing in the car dock I will knock it down to 700mhz.
So in short, just keep an eye on it and use some common sense. (just my thoughts)

Correct me if I am wrong, but won't the phone shut itself down prior to getting too hot and doing any serious damage? I haven't had any issues yet with overheating (knocks on wood).

From what I've read, the battery has a lower temperature threshold than the CPU does, so it will go before the processor does. I don't have the specific numbers in front of me (yet) but I'm pretty sure you're okay.
