The back of mine doesn't seem to go on as snugly as it used to. I've swapped the battery a few times since getting mine on launch day. Probably 10 or so times. If i press lightly with my thumb on the center of the bottom part of the back, it makes a squeaky noise and definitely gives.

I'm used to backs that are made to come off the phone a bit more easily (blackberrys, moto droid), so I've always found the plastic tabs on the inc kind of suboptimal. I guess that's one of the sacrifices you make for a super slim and light phone.

I ordered a new back cover from ebay, hopefully that will give me back that tight-as-a-drum new phone feel.

i've been pretty gentle taking the back off, but i suppose it could have been user error

Mine stays on there, but it makes this clicking sound if I press on it in one direction. It sounds flimsy but in reality it's not.

I think the whole snap on, snap off design of the Droid Inc's battery cover is pretty crappy.

i swap between the 2 cases, red/blk 2 piece snap together gradient and high gloss silicon slip on.
only had my bat cover off twice, install org bat , then to replace it with 1500 bat.
the cases are cut out for charging, so its still snug

FYI They sell replacement OEM backs on the Verizon site for $15.

I am not surprised there arent more options because we can't even get a damn horizontal dock or TV out cable and its been more than 2 months

My back creaks with the stock battery but not with the HTC 1500 OEM.

Mine also makes a clicking noise on the right side sometimes. And here I thought I would get rid of that noise coming from a storm 1

The letters fell off (no biggie, it looks okay without the letters), and the rubber soft-touch material is coming off. It's sort of bunched up around the edges and one small piece has come off. It isn't that noticeable. Does anyone know how I go about getting this replaced? If I walk into a random Verizon store will they take care of it for me?

Other than that the phone's been great.

EDIT: I should add that I never take the back cover off or anything. I'm using a stock battery and just leave it alone. However, I'm not using a case.

I think the design of the cover is garbage and way too cheap feeling. I feel like im peeling filo dough or paper when I remove it.

I would really like a aluminum back, though not if it degrades signal in any way, cant afford that.

If I rem correctly wasn't the initial run 100,000+ ?
Since then all back orders, frankly I'm surprised at any 3rd party support.

The back of the phone seems fine with the stock battery. The HTC letters did come off after a few weeks. But I got used to it.
