it depends on your definitions of use. Moderate use to me is a few dozen texts, emails and facebook being checked/synced every 15-30 minutes, a couple of phone calls, and usually a bit of game playing/market browsing.

I can usually get 18-24 hours easy out of my battery, but I turn mobile network off when I'm not using it, especially since I'm usually in an area that has poor service. If I'm using it extremely heavy, like heavy web browsing and game playing, it probably drops to 12 hours or less...but I rarely do that.

It also depends on what ROM you're using, some are better on battery than others (more due to the kernel than anything). As well as whether you use the auto brightness, or how long your screen stays on when it's idle, and so many other factors that it's hard to pinpoint exactly what could be causing a person's battery to be performing worse than another's

Texts go back and fourth all day and my facebook for sense is syncing every 2 hours and I have the facebook app check every hour. (I tend to open it more than 3x an hour) Gmail pushing about 10 to 15 emails through, but regular mail is only checked 1x every 4 hours. I can get 24 hrs, but I usually put it on the charger when I go to sleep and its at about 65% left.

I use mine pretty heavily and at first it would only last about 9 hours or so. That was still twice as long as my old Moment though, so I didn't complain. Then I started messing around with the different scenes and found a way to make it last all day. I just took off the email widget, and kill the email app. Put that on a scene with facebook, twitter and basically anything that updates often. Then my main scene has my bookmarks, music, weather, sms widget, calendar and so on. Since I only go to the scene with all the frequent updating items when I need to use them, my battery now lasts all day and through the night when I am up or out really late.

I have everything off and I'm getting 9 or 10 hours I guess I shouldn't complain it could be worse. My phone looks like the iPhone just the clock and a few apps.

What's your secret for having that much battery life.

He must not have any friends that talk to him, just kidding. The hard part about these smart phones is every phone is going to be used different. It's not like the older cell phones where the main function was phone calls and if one phone model got 3 days between charges then pretty much all the phones of that model would too.

We all use our phones different now so the battery life will swing from excellent to horrible. He said moderate use, so if he only gets a couple calls a day, couple texts and he isn't having the secondary email program running and syncing along with twitter and facebook and all the other stuff then it is entirely possible to get a couple days out of it. I had one day where I used my phone for 10 minutes when I unplugged it in the morning, when I finally used it again later that night, it was still over 70%.

    I easily get 16-20 hrs..

Three email accts syncing at 30 minute intervals.. two in regular mail and one in gmail.

    Home screen with weather widget.

I text maybe 1-2 dozen times daily. Maybe 3-4 calls. Occasional web browsing, Continual facebook checks, 3-4 email sends.

I keep my wifi, bluetooth, gps off unless I need any one of them.

    Auto brightness enabled.

I get a full 24 hours, with at least 30% battery to spare. My average awake time is usually about 50%. I've never really had problems with my battery after i stopped using a task killer to "speed" up my phone. You just gotta be aware of the faulty apps out there that stay awake and overuse the cpu. Another major factor is how strong your network connection is. If you constantly have weak signals, battery life will deplete much quicker. Updating prl can help with this, unless your in a horrible coverage area.

when I purchased the phone and charged it for the first time it lasted 4 HOURS! (I was furious, LOL)

following the basic guidelines in the battery life thread pinned in this forum, I am now getting 48 hours in between charges. Currently I'm at 52 hours with about 2hrs (4%) awake time. Battery level indicator at the top looks to be about 40% (still green) and the more detailed one in settings read 50%

I have the default ROM 1.5, and am NOT using any social apps (facebook, etc.) default mail app grabs my hotmail acct once an hour, and I text pretty heavily, with at least 10-15 minutes of phone use a day. also check the market and web while I should be paying attention in meetings.

I was getting about 10 hours each day - I would shut the mobile network off during the day (but I was able to get texts and phone calls, but no emails.) When I had a few minutes before my next class arrived, I would switch the mobile network on, download any new emails, and then shut it off again.

However, since I got the 3300mhz battery, I'm getting easily 16-20 hours of constant use (facebook, phone, games & music). This battery kicks some serious butt - I highly recommend you getting one!

I use 55 to 70% most days with about 1 day every two weeks when I'll have to put it on the charger during the day.

Does everyone have their clock widget by htc with the weather deleted from their phone. I have everything off it's like my phone is not even a smart phone no more I don't know what to do. I ony get 9 to 10 hours but the htc clock and weather is still on my phone could this be causing my short battery life I even have all the location services off and also mobile network my phone is useless.

I play Pandora consistently at work at my desk so i dont get the best battery life. I unplugg at 6am, pandora is running by 7am. By noon, my battery bar is in the orange, but again that is with pandora running non stop and doing regular phone and app use. so 6 hours of life.....blah but im trying it out today without running pandora and doing my regular phone usage and seeing how my battery life changes. I understand that Pandora drains the battery but thats what i like to listen to at work.
