    When I went in on launch day they told me there was no such deal, and if there was it would be automatically discounted in there system for my account.

    So how many of you were actually able to get that "$100" off for a 3g to 4g upgrade? (or dubmphone to 4g upgrade)

    Anyone think calling support tomorrow might help get that discount?

    When I called support, they said that since I was transferring the upgrade from another line I was not eligible.

    It doesnt hurt to try though.

    Not a rumor at all, I just didn't get them to get it to work at the time of purchase. The CSR said they noted it on my account, but when I tried to purchase it to my account they actually found it and because I wasn't in Chicago I wasn't able to get it. If someone had the person helping them ignore that little detail, then they would of been able to get it.

    I went to my store on launch day and they said I couldn't get any discounts. I let them know I spoke to a CSR on top of already verifying at least one account on my phone. We laughed, we cried, we yelled. Manager came over..another manager.....I had to call *611.

    Turns out the 3g-4g discount only works when you ship your old 3g phone back to corporate. somehow a few forum members got around this, i'm curious as to how...

    So after some arguing and a few phone more calls...we made a heck of a deal on my 15+ year account that I'd buy it at full price and ship back a 3g (they didn't say it couldn't be my Moto Q) phone when I got the return slip in the mail. I'll let you know how it goes.

    No clue. She just told me that if I lived in Chicago I would of got it. I even asked the manager and he said he couldn't help me even with the note because it says it right on the thing that it's for chicago only.

    I was told it was only for Chicago as well. They did say it might be a deal that may roll out to other areas depending on how much success it has there. I tried ... I definitely wanted the discount.

    Makes sense that it's Chicago only. Wasn't the coupon code associated with it "ch4ge"?

    4g=4g (duh)
    e=??....mc² or sumptin' (tssss)

    Also, I seem to remember reading that VZW was upgrading LTE to cover more of "Chicagoland"...

    Call in 4-5 times. then they finally gave up and gave me the $100. Rep told me that it was because ive been with VZ for over 8 yr with good payment history.

    Again, you will have a better chance to get the $ by calling the CS.

    Yes! I had to call CS about 8 times. The final one said she'd give it to me, but I couldn't buy it over the phone at the time of the call. The CSR said she'd call me later and she never did. So I called CS again and got a lady who had heard of the promotion but said I didn't qualify because I was not in the midwest. I live in Iowa............... She got with her manager and the manager approved it because they didn't understand why "Iowa" isn't considered Midwest in Verizon's eyes even though Iowa IS the midwest. She ordered it for me and I am getting it on Monday! ...waiting is killing me.

    They gave me $100 off on my Rezound but miss charged my CC the full amount so they credited my account $100 then when I returned it they gave me the Full $300 back even after I told them I recieved $100 credit the Rep just said well enjoy the extra 100 bucks .
    Then when I bought my Nexus they gave me $100 off again . So in all reality I got my Nexus for $99

    I just called, no dice :( I live in Kansas, but promo is for Chicago only... :( The rep I bought my phone from didn't notice that i guess. They ended up giving me $30 back.

    No, was told by csr that the discount was valid, but only for corporate accounts switching to 4g phones. Discount period Mar. 17, 2011 - Dec. 31, 2011.

    I emailed Verizon asking them about it and they replied that it was only good for the Chicago area...

    I live in northern MN, and I got a CSR to note it on my account on my first call (Dec 13.) Went into my local corporate store on Launch Morning and the sales lady said she saw the note. She checked with her manager in the back and they took the $100 off at the register. Could only get $25 of the living social deal to work, though.

    No mention of having to mail back my OG Droid which I will now use as a Pandora/Google Music machine for the stereo. I feel extremely lucky.

    I called and it was noted on my account. Called the store, it was not on the account. Called CS back, it was noted AGAIN! Called the store, it was there, no problem, come in tomorrow and get your phone. Problem...when my husband went to get the phone, the note was gone. Ended up calling CS, it isn't valid for you. Ended up speaking to a mgr (higher up?) at CS and since two different CSR's said I qualify, he would honor it, but only if it is shipped to me. So, here I sit, no GNex...until Tuesday. :eek:( But I do get $100 off.

    I called, they said I was eligible and said they were adding a note to the account. The CSR at the store just looked at me like I was nuts when gave him the story -- either way I got a corporate discount and saved $50 so I'm not bent about it.

    That sounds similar to what I am going through right now. I found it weird that I must have the phone shipped to get it honored, though. I've gone through 2 CSRs to back my story up, and they both said I should contact the customer service on the phone to get it honored. RazorSharp advised to keep the date of the chat, so you might wanna do that as well.

    I only got 50 off the phone. She saw the notes from the csr, then looked up the promo and saw it was for Midwest only so she refused to give me the full 100 and told me to call support to get the extra 50.


    EDIT: I just got off the phone with *611 and explained the situation and I'm getting credited $59.99 on my next bill. Winning.
