Knowing what you know now, how much would you be willing to pay for your Droid without carrier subsidy/discount?

I wouldn't buy one without a carrier subsidy. Why would you? You can get the droid now for $49 at amazonwireless.com and while the contract costs are pricey from Verizon, I would still want 3g and phone service. If I didn't have my Droid on a contract, it would be nothing more than a glorified pmp. You might as well just get an iPod Touch or something.

I asked that because my Droid has basicly replaced my mp3 player and almost entirely replaced my home computer. Now knowing how valuable it is to me, I'd be willing to pay more than I actually did for that service. Wanted to see how other Droid owners felt about that.

I have only bought phones at the discounted new contract price, and that's probably all I'll ever do. No matter what the phone. But if you ask me what the Droid is worth, that's a whole other story. To me, the N1 is not the run away best phone on the market. Nor is the Desire. And I really don't think the iPhone comes close solely as a phone. The Droid is still the best phone available for my wants and needs, which means it's still worthy of being one of the most expensive phones on the market.

I don't know if I could pay more for my phone than the 100 dollars I spent on it originally.

Is it the best phone I ever owned? Yes (but I guess that is not saying alot since my previous phone was a BB Storm). Did I think it was better than anything else on the market when I purchased it? Yes. Do I enjoy it more and more the longer I own it? Yes.

No matter how much I love a cell phone, I don't think I could spend more than roughly $200 on a new one. I have never purchased a phone before my New Every Two option was available. Yet, I said I would never pay more than $100 per month on a cell phone bill either, so I guess I can't say...never...

I agree, I never would've imagined spending more than $100 on a phone but what the Droid can do and what technology will continue to bring us I imagine that when the phone can truly replace your home computer entirely spending $500 on a phone will be no different then spending $1000 on a computer.

Paid full price for it on release day, and I'd pay full price for it again.

I would have no problem paying around $250 for it because it has replaced my 16gb ipod touch and my old phone. It's also a lot of fun to play with and I have kept mine bone stock, besides a couple apps (for now)

I would not pay more than $200. I simply am not willing to invest more into a phone, no matter HOW AWESOME IT IS. :) But how much do I think it is worth, is a different question. I would definitely say it's worth $500+, for all the features it has.

I paid $100 for my Droid - and I consider it to be worth about $400 to me personally - however if I had to purchase a replacement with out subsidy I would not be willing to pay more then about $300.

I paid $200 for mine and it was worth every penny. I answered $200 again, only due to the fact that my current job is temporary (ends in April). If I had a good solid job, it would be $400+...This thing still amazes me....Well...Off to the Root sub forum :D

I paid 200 when it first came out with a 2-year contract. I'm on a family plan already, so most of those 100 or 50 dollar deals they have wouldn't apply cause you can't be a returning customer. If I HAD to, I might pay $300 for it, but since I'm cheap I can't see myself shelling out $400 for a phone. I can splurge on a gaming desktop computer, but with the abuse phones take, I can't chance having a very breakable, easy-to-lose item that I paid $400 for in my pocket. :)

why would you pay full price, when you get in for $50, plus if go through BING.COM and use $50 cash back opportunity. that way, phone become free and if you break the contract, it is sill a lot less than full price. Only pay 350 termination fee.
