    Greetings,

As soon as the 2.2 update was leaked for the Droid, I downloaded it and applied it to my phone, rather than keep waiting for Verizon to push it out weeks later. The update process went smoothly, and I have been running Froyo for a couple weeks now.

The problem is, now my phone bugs me with the OTA update notification constantly, and the only options I have are to install, or install later. I have no option to decline the update.

Is there any way to tell android to stop attempting to apply the OTA update? I am surprised it is even trying, as its already running 2.2 so why would it still try and update?

If it matters, I have rooted my Droid.

    Thanks.

That first update a few weeks ago was FRG01B. Your Droid wouldn't even bother downloading or alerting you if you already had it installed.

What you're probably seeing is the -second- update (FRG22B) that was being pushed out in just the last two weeks. You probably DO want this one since it's the one that will allow you to see and download Flash from the Market...

    FRG01B was 45.2Mb in size.
    FRG22B is just a 1.6Mb patch.

I've moved your thread from the Android News & Talk section, since this is device specific.

My friend had the same problem and his issue was that he stalled another build than the one that was being pushed. Go to about phone and tell us what the build number is. You should have FRG01B or FRG22, if it's anything other than those two that's your problem.

To be fair, it was me who moved the thread here. Leaked builds aren't something I've come across with my phone; do you have to root to install them?

I believe so. You can force an OTA to you phone. He stated in his first post he was rooted
