    Hi all,

I am having issues in displaying Thai text in my HTC Hero device.
Using SetText Function, i am unable to display the THAI text.

when i run the App, i find square boxes, in place for the Thai text.

please let me know the cause and solution, if anyone knows it.

Similar issue is seen in Greek also.

    Thanks in advance.

The behavior you describe is typical when the characters you want to display are not in any font installed on the device.

My conjecture is that you don't have a font that includes Thai characters.

I have installed AnySoft Keyboard and AnySoft Thai language pack - both available from Android Market.

    Work perfectly on my Desire.

Could you give me a step by step on how you did that? Did you root your phone first or you just installed AnySoft Keyboard and AnySoft Thai language pack ? Thanks in advance..

No my phone isn't rooted, I just downloaded and installed both the keyboard and the font pack. To activate the Thai keyboard, you need to long hold on a new message, then select input method.

I have a Tmobile Mytouch slide 3G phone (in the USA) which uses Android 2.1.

There is no Thai font on this phone.

I could not find the Anysoft program or fonts on the Android market. Are they discontinued?

I also read somewhere that there is way to install Thai font but the phone needs to be rooted. Also someone said that Android 2.2 may support Thai fonts.

I have just noticed today that on my HTC Desire on Orange I can read Thai fonts on the Friends Stream/Facebook and they are not the normal squares. I am going to try to install the Anysoft program and Thai Language pack to see if it works.

I am having the same problem on my Huawei Ascend and I cant display thai characters on on the phone. It shows little squares instead of showing thai characters. I cant even go on thai sites or check my Facebook, because all my friends write in thai characters.
