I just got my HTC incredible yesterday from my preorder. I have problem to enable other keyboard such as Swype or others like Chinses input from google. I went to settings-keyboard&language and checked these keyboards, but when I typed text, only the default HTC touch input keyboard popped out, I did not find any key to switch. I did not find a way to disable the touch input keyboard either. Do you have similar problems? Thanks.

When in a box you want to type text in such as the browser, press and hold your finger on the box, it will pop up another box that will allow you to select the keyboard. You only need to do this once and it will remember it for next time. Enjoy.

Also once you set the keyboard this way once it should be that way for all other apps automatically, or at least that was my experience.
