I'm a bit new at this.. but
how do i uninstall SPrecovery from my droid?
Back up and let us know I guess..
installing this on my co workers, they all seem to be loving it! thank you for finding this!
Update is installing right now.
After putting the update.zip on my SD card and trying to apply sdcard: update.zip I get the following error:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Try it once more...
Also, which download location did you use?
plz help, i do evething... installs ok,,, but now i open and every thing is like older.. and sys info show 2.1update 1
once I do this can i delete update.zip from sd card?
Download and try again!
Just completed update. Everything looks OK so far.
easiest way is to use a sbf and rsd lite. check this thread http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/136508-guide-all-things-root-related.html
half way down there is a guide to returning to stock
I had the experimental 2.2 installed, and was rooted. had sprecovery on. I restored back to 2.1 and flashed to this official 2.2 with sprecovery, no issues
If you're having issues after your first boot, do a battery pull.
if you get E:signtature verification failed its a bad download. Just download again. The servers are probably getting hammered right now
unmount the phone? does this mean i need to unmount my sd before i reboot and put it into recovery?
All good here!
mine is all good here
booted up and it works! thanks!
Someone should post the md5 for the file; so we can verify before copying. But none the less installing now.
I hope this isn't a stupid question but ...
-Do not attempt to install this to anything other than the Motorola Droid.
-If you are running anything other than stock 2.1, you will receive an error.
-If you attempt to apply this update with a custom ROM installed, the update will NOT apply.
Does that mean that if I'm on 2.1-update 1 and I'm rooted I cannot use this?
Thats the md5sum I get but I havent tried to install it because I am rooted. If someone can verify this MD5 I would appreciate it
As long as you do not have a custom ROM, go right ahead. 2.1-update1 is the code name for stock 2.1.
